Kelly Mack, Ph.D.
Biography
Kelly Mack, Ph.D. is a co-presenter of Game Changer Academies and is current Vice President for Undergraduate STEM Education for the Association of American Colleges & Universities (AAC&U). Dr. Mack also serves as Executive Director of Project Kaleidoscope, AAC&U’s center of STEM higher education reform dedicated to empowering STEM faculty, including those from underrepresented groups to graduate more students in the STEM fields who are competitively trained and literally educated.
Dr. Mack has extensive knowledge of the National Science Foundation as she served as the Senior Program Director for NSF’s ADVANCE Program while on loan as a Professor of Biology at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. In this role Dr. Mack managed an annual budget of $17 million while leading the development and implementation of both gender and race issues in the STEM disciplines for the institutions in the STEM portfolio.
Dr. Mack’s national reputation includes being published in both domestic and international academic journals in subject areas including STEM faculty professional development, inclusive excellence in STEM and career identity development, making her an ideal academic executive to lead Game Changer Academies.
A co-founder of the Society of STEM Women of Color, Dr. Mack earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maryland-Eastern Shore and Ph. D. in Physiology from Howard University.
